Im going to be out in minnesota visiting family pretty soon, would love to get in contact
with any promoters interested in bookings.

Canoe [a Los Angeles based producer,DJ, Label Owner] devised Raggatek Recordings in late
2003, to bridge a gap between 2 styles...Ragga Jungle and Tech Step. He has a beautiful
history of musical talent in his bloodline that has helped him keep an open mind towards
his music. Canoe naturally applies reggae/roots, blues, jazz, rare grooves and hip-hop
into his production. He's been active in the Los Angeles hiphop/drum and bass scene for
the last 10 years and also had a record store [Zenbeats] for 4 years dedicated to drum and
bass, hip-hop and break beats. You won't find anything of lesser quality from his
production down to the actual presentation of the vinyl products. You won't find any
'filler' tracks either from his future releases. Raggatek Recordings is about high-energy
dance floor smashers.

Aside from playing various musical instruments, Canoe's Dad and Grandparents also
collected and played records before and during his life. Being surrounded with that
positive energy, Canoe was inspired at a very young age by their record collection. Of
course at the time he didn't know how valuable the knowledge he acquired would be and how
it would motivate him in his future. Canoe was heavily influenced in hip-hop in the late
1980's when his mom bought him his first record, which was Run DMC's 'Raising Hell.' Since
then, hip-hop culture continued to pave his path into break dancing, graffiti and his
interest in production.

In July of 1999, Canoe took the initiative and opened the doors to a record store called
'Zenbeats' in Whittier, California. Zenbeats supplied records, cd's, graffiti supplies and
smoking supplies such as water bongs and pipes. This was when the idea of Raggatek took
place. The root of Raggatek was actually a double mix cd he released that same year which
incorporated a seamless mix between Ragga Jungle and Tech Step. After 4 years, he closed
Zenbeats to pursue his record label, named Raggatek Recordings. Canoe is also working on
another label called 'Burke St. Records.' Partnered with upcoming producer named Exgirl,
Burke St. Records features the funkier, 'soul-filled' drum and bass. The first release on
Burke St. Records should be due out October of 2005. Also, look for a future
release"battlefield" on simpleform records due out this fall!
>>>Introducing RaggaTek Records....

"This Side" - "Hyper" (Side A) Features a cut by Mainframe, of Jungle Riddim Records and
co-owner of Simple Form Records. This Stevie "Hyper" D tribute is no run-of-the-mill remix
you may have heard in the past, it is a new vision and take on the intensity that Stevie
"Hyper" D would bring to the party. Mainframe has captured the energy and drive this man
had by creating a tune that has a "live" feel to it, with actual live samples from the
man, Hyper D, himself. With pounding amens, intense techno-based samples, and a mind
shattering, ground shaking, grinding reese, this track is a guaranteed dancefloor smasher.

"That Side" - "Rudeboy Shuffle" (Side B) A collaboration between dj/ producer
Canoe(raggatek, burke st,simple form) and Subflo(hustlin beats). A tune that definitely
bridges the gap between Tech Step, Reggae and Ragga Jungle. This innovative tune rolls out
with a nice melodic vibe coupled with tough amens and deep, warm, sub bass.
Reggae/Ska/Dancehall samples give it an edge that not many producers have captured. A
definite must have for any lovers of "roller" tunes and also very dance floor friendly.
