I found some great techno on Beatport.com and Trackitdown.com by a new label Hypno- Traxx.
Their first release was Open 88 by St Marc. I found his website www.stmarc.net, if you
want more information on him. The label website is www.hypno-traxx.com. I think these
four tracks have a lot of great things about them, so I'm just going to try and give you
a little review:
St Marc- Open 88 (Original Mix)
Open 88 has a certain funky beat that makes you move. A light and bouncy sound with a
serious undertone. A sound that makes you think aliens do exist, and bubbling streams of
water infused with ecstasy are now trickling down your spine like a rain stick. Might be
crazy, but what an experience! Can’t help but not get caught up in it.
St Marc- Open 88 (Scott Kasie Mix)
This has a deep, dark, and futuristic sound. The base is heavy in this mix, like a semi
truck full of bricks, with the beat broken up with well placed sounds bites that are
similar of laser beams and light sabers. A computer hacker with a god computer uploading
a virus from the future!
St Marc- Open 88 (Lunatik Mix)
A mix that makes you wonder what kind of drugs he was on when he made it, then leads you
on a fun little experience of skipping, tripping, and droplets of techno water hitting
your cerebral cortex. Not sure if you should dance or smile at the flashing lights
popping off in your head? This gives you a reason to do both.
St Marc- Open 88 (Sinner Chop Shop Mix)
If you liked the Original, this mix takes it one step further. It’s like an evil twin!
It’s gritty, hard, and sports a deep base. Ever wonder what it would be like to have
been lost in a techno jungle on an uncharted island? Well now you have.
