SLAM CITY JAM
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Solo Mobile Slam City Jam, the North American Skateboarding Championships will be taking
place at BC Place Stadium from August 26th to 28th, 2005. This World Cup Skateboarding
event is North America's largest and longest-running skateboard contest.

Slam City Jam has been an ongoing success due to the team of dynamic, dedicated and
kick-ass volunteers who donate their time and energy every year at this enormous
Skateboard Competition.

There are many ways in which you can utilize your talents, learn new skills and explore
the world of putting on a large-scale event. We require a wide range of volunteers with
various skills so you may have just what it takes to be on the Slam City Jam volunteer
team. The most important aspects to being a Slam City Jam volunteer are your desire to
accept the challenges presented and the dedication to do your best!

Slam City Jam is looking for skilled, motivated volunteers to fulfill various positions
for the BIG EVENT. There are opportunities for great experience in the areas of on-site
production, on-site construction, hospitality, access control and skate park monitors.

You are given a 'SCJ Crew' t-shirt to wear on site when you volunteer for SCJ (you get to
keep the shirt as we don't want them after you’ve worn them all weekend!). Volunteers must
commit to fulfill 24 hours of volunteer time at SCJ (this may sound like a lot but all of
your time is at a rad skateboard championship, life hasn't ever been this awesome!).
Along with the SCJ t-shirt you get free entry into the event, eats (if you do 8 or more
hours), meet/greet the riders, learn new skills or build upon old ones, volunteer wrap up
party (with prizes), meet other skate community buddies, a letter of reference, at least
one thing to put on your resume that resembles work experience, and wickedly good karma!
