Having seen Both sides of the industry. I cannot understand for the life of me! why it costs so much to see D.Js who change records. and so little to see bands that peform live. Why does Electronic music cost so much to see Its not that hard to make, infact i make it myself Dont get me wrong i have nothing against the role electronic music plays I just cant afford to enjoy it when these scammy clubs are rippin up the x e door fees. Come on Guys fairs fairs. You dont warrant that much of door charge. it not brain surgery. Tasmo duff Short of change |

you can blame these two things: 1. crowds (everywhere around the world) flock like sheep to pay ridiculous prices to see over-hyped internationals when some very good locals find it hard to get even a small crowd to turn up to a $5 night. I might sound cynical but these days too many people seem to be taken in by hype and don't seem to care enough about quality music. They just blindly follow wherever their friends are going. 2. expensive and restrictive licencing requirements and ridiculously expensive insurance requirements pushing up venue costs (making venue managers too frightened to try anything different) |
