hi all
i am a brisbane based producer/ turntablist who is relocating to Launceston Tasmania next
week for family reasons. I am likely going to remain there for 12 months or so, and I am
currently looking to touch base with industry types/ producers/ djs/ event managers/
agents in Tasmania.
Ideally I would like to find other recording electronic musicians and djs for
collaborative projects in the production of breaks, hip hop, funk, and drum & bass, but
also with rock musicians/ blues guitarists and percussionists. I have worked with various
artists and djs over the years including the Resin Dogs in Brisbane.
If there is any available nights in local clubs or venues throughout tassie i would be
most interested in getting involved. I have no intention of hijacking the airwaves or the
dancefloors, and am not interested in the nightclub scene as a whole, I prefer to remain
as a professional entity working in conjunction with event and venue managers.
Any upcoming djs or producers who just want to jam some time - drop me a line.
I have a small home studio setup including turntables(1200MKII), a sampler, a sequencer (
external 303), drum machines, and computer c/w Pro-tools setup, Goldwave, Cool Edit Pro,
Sound Forge 5.0 and others.
My record collection is vast and full of mega rare old breakbeat comps and jazz funk
12"s, as well as loads of toolkit records, drum libraries, lockgrooved scratch tools, and
loads of fat hip hop beats. I also have quite a bit of jazzy house and nu-jazz comps
(essentially club music). While my focus has been in the production side of things, I
have dj'd in Nightclubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, LA, Atlanta,
Boston and elsewhere. Most recently I have played club nights in Brisbane at the Empire
(upstairs moonbar) and the press club, on the gold coast at berlin bar, and several
advent'jah festivals in recent years.
Again I must emphasise that i am simply seeking to hook up with other djs and producers
in Tassie, with view to playing the odd club night in Hobart or Launceston, and perhaps
eventually establishing a small studio space available primarily for amatuer recording
artists, but particularly electronic musicians.
Any fans of Ninja Tunes and DJ Shadow are encouraged, as this best describes my
influences.
Thank u all
