I would like to express my on going disgust at the land and foreshore and sea issue going
on in our political status right now. I think its pathetic that Maori generally speaking
feel hard done by because they are no longer entitled to any more hand outs of the income
or profits from the land, seabed, and forshore. I mean thats what this is really about
isn't it?. Else they would have agreed fairly that the policy changes to the land, sea,
and fore shore documents were infact making it accesible to every body and not just
seperating those who could get profit from it and those who couldn't. I don't understand
why people don't speak up about this special treatment of Maori people in New Zealand it
pisses me off. They want to sit around and have all these rights to handouts. When it
comes to the crunch Maori are the ones who continually seperate themselves from the rest
of us and should be classed as prejudice not the other way around. We are not taking away
the right of Maori to pratice their culture in New Zeland we infact embrace it and yet
they still ask for special treatment when it comes to education as well the crown pumps
in billions of dollars into the education of young Maori children, and why? don't all
children in New Zealand have as much equal oppourtunity to take themselves in life where
they want to go?, Through hard work and dedication to making something of themselves. The
colour of your skin has no meaning to whether you do well in life or not does it? But yet
it always comes back to the "oh our people were here before yours". How long are our
ongoing generations going to have to put up with the fact that Maori choose to exploit
their race in New zeland? I agree with Don Brash he just came out and said what everybody
was thinking at least he had the guts to share it with the rest of us, I hope some of you
will do the same.
