Has anyone been to the King Street Hotel recently?

I don't get up to Newcastle much, but a few weeks ago I went up to see some friends and
we made the mistsake of going there....

1. From the moment we got there I had an army of drunk guys hitting on me, even though I
was with my boyfriend.

2. The drinks are more expensive than some places I go to in Sydney.

3. We watched a couple of people get marched out by the heavy-handed security, apparently
for being drunk. All of them looked fine to us though.

4. A girl who was very drunk nearly pushed me down a set of stairs.

5. My boyfriend and I both saw people taking drugs when we went to the toilets. We all
know this happens, but maybe these people should try and keep it a little more undercover
if they don't want to get in trouble!

6. As were leaving we saw security guards having a huge argument with some people who had
been thrown out or been refused entry.

7. One of the security guards had words with one of our friends while we were waiting for
a taxi (for no reason I could tell).

Next time our friends are staying at our place (Central Coast) and we will go down to
Sydney instead. The whole experience really convinced me that going out in Newcastle is
not worth the effort!

Newcastle Nightlife Dead.???

Maybe ya's are just going to the wrong Venues, None of the above mentioned takes place at
any of the Venues i frequent.

Try choosing your destination better.

Sorry if this post seems bitchy, but Newy's nightlife an (certain) Venues has really
improved in the last 18 mths, alot of locals have pulled together to make sure of it.!
And i won't stand(sit) by an listen(read) to it put down due to a few people who went to
a Dance/Drug oriented Venue and expected better then they got.

For a good(safe) nite out...I proudly recommend: "The CAMBRIDGE Hotel" - Newcastle
Leagues Club's "The BAND ROOM" & "The PALIAS Royale"
