try to sign up a new account with a different email addy, should sent you a confirmation
email to click on.. or it may have possibly went into your junk email folder by mistake!

If that is their problem waiting a few weeks won't fix it.
There are automated spam bots out there that try to create fake users on forums all the
time.


They try to sign up here too. (so far they don't get past the rego emails because the
backend here is quite different to phpBB but I'm keeping an eye on them.)



I would suggest that they should change their signup forms to not be too similar to
standard phpbb forms and also to change their confirmation emails so that they are
different to the standard phpbb ones.



Those spambots get confused if the fields are different names or the confirmation link is
different or on a different place.



Also its good to check for repeated data in fields 
(in ways a human wouldn't normally do) and fake ips if possible.



Some people might suggest captchas .. but I've been avoiding them here because I
personally don't like them.
I have good eyesight and have trouble with captchas at times...(as ocr technology
improves they have to warp the letters more and more to make them unreadable to machines
- but unfortunately that makes them harder for humans too) - 
... what about someone with poor eyesight?



Its a constant battle these days trying to keep out spambots without restricting access
to humans. 


You can probably blame those scummy spammers if you have trouble with access on any forum
these days. 



All I can say is spammers are the lowest slime on earth

I have a question, why is the spraci site soo slow to load?

 i only run a small forum and get spambots signing up every day :S, there is a few scripts
for phpBB that tell you to put no optional details in the signup form and to put them in
later, where a spambot comes along puts in that crap and cant make an account, sezzy maby
it would be a good idea for dale to do something of that sort ??.

even that wasnt running nearly as slow...
