Subject: stereo PA suggestions?

I'm looking for a portable stereo PA setup, somewhere in the $500
range. I want to run a guitar (through a multi-effects processor),
sampler, and drum machine, all with stereo outputs. I'm considering
the Behringer PMX 2000 with a couple of 12 inch cabinets, the Fender
passport P-250 system, the Soundtech AL2R system, or possibly just a
couple of powered speaker cabinets, such as GEMSOUND MA1200. Does
anybody have any experience with this equipment, or any other
suggestions? I basically just want a stereo setup with good sound
quality and range (especially for guitar and sampled sounds), loud
enough to play small shows by myself or to play along with a semi-
loud drum, bass, guitar, ensemble. Thanks!

I would strongly suggest that you not run a PA system in a stereo configuration.... Your
audience will thank you... Stereo is for living rooms where people sit basically between
the speakers... In a club environment, the people sitting far left and right of the stage
will only recieve half of the stereo signal...Stereo reverb and delay effects will also
sound weird if listened to from the sides....Bass response will be greater in mono
also..Vocals will lack power. I've been running sound systems since 1969 and this is just
as true today as it was then..It's just an all around bad idea.......the pouxhawk
