Tonight you have the option of enjoying Dinner on the Bosphorous. A fantastic way to be introduced to Istanbul, dinning between Asia and Europe on the Bosphorous Sea. Day 2- Istanbul City Tour- Wednesday 23 April 2008 Breakfast Included We depart from the hotel at 08:30 for the Istanbul city tour. TOPKAPI PALACE The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. HIPPODROME Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Lunch break and then we head to the SPICE BAZAAR (Egyptian Bazaar) The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. Tonight we can take you to a welcome gala dinner with Traditional Turkish 1001 entertainment, an optional activity. You can meet our friendly crew and other travellers while enjoying traditional Turkish Food and enjoy the mystical atmosphere of Istanbul at night. The evening starts at 830pm. Overnight at 5star Hotel in Istanbul. Day 3 – Gallipoli - Dawn Service – Thursday 24 April 2008 Breakfast, lunch and BBQ buffet dinner included We depart for Gallipoli at 07:00 (4.5 hour drive). On the way we will have the chance to watch the latest documentary on the Gallipoli Campaign. We arrive in Gallipoli for lunch. We will have an Anzac lunch on the coast of Gabatepe. We then start our tour of the Gallipoli Peninsula. We visit Kabatepe War Museum , Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Australia’s Memorial and Cemetery, Quinns Post, Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery, The Nek, Chunuk-Bair New Zealand Memorial and Cemetery. After the tour we drive to the coast of Gabatepe again for our big ANZAC BBQ buffet dinner until 21.30 pm. Prior to dinner we will stop at a supermarket for additional supplies for our overnight stay at ANZAC Cove. After dinner we will depart for Dawn Service. Overnight Anzac Cove.
