As the month draws to an end, it's time to head south of the City Centre for Lost &
Broken.
Residents and Curators doublejo(H)ngrey bring you a host of frantic guests united by
repetitive rhythms, distorted guitar, subhuman synths and a sense of foreboding.
Once again doublejo(H)ngrey will play both a live set and a DJ set of our own particular
blend: a rock n roll, electronic, rub-a-dub, prog-rock rave.
Extra special guests for the evening are the legendary TVH3. Hosts of Manchester's
sleaziest live music club Fiction Non Fiction at Tiger Lounge, TVH3 embody this city's
dark underbelly. Buried in their suits they perform their intense set, with sounds
reminiscent of Joy Division, Suicide and the darker side of Kraftwerk. Having not
performed for almost nine months, they've written a whole new set for Lost & Broken an
event not to miss at any cost (did I mention its free entry?).
Modernaire's beatmaster, the cult DJ Oscar Wildestyle is performing a live laptop set
especially for Lost & Broken. Modernaire's music fuses melancholy electronic pop with
tough, sometimes glitchy beats, fuzzy synths and female vocals. The Oscar Wildestyle
mixtapes that have stormed the internet are a sparkling mix of disco, electro and mashed
up hits.
Guest DJ for the night is National Forest, Faith & Hope's oddball beatman and one half of
SirYesSir. His rawkus DJ sets cross all genres: House, rock, ragga, punk, funk and 2step.
As usual we've got our own particular style of monochromatic decor and visuals to add to
the sinister atmosphere. Please don't be put off by the Private Party sign on the door,
you're all invited. There's been some confusion with Pleasure but, despite the venue
being closed for the rest of the month, they're opening specially for us. Think of it
like a free party or a squat rave, but with a proper bar. Also, as it's your last chance
to smoke in a pub EVER we'll be dishing out free fags, roll-ups and the cheapest cigars
money can buy, along with the usual free exclusive CDs.
One last warning, please do get down early to avoid disappointment. We hate to turn
people away, but when it's full, it's full.
