Does anyone know where the label "Force Inc." is or is doing today? I jumped around to their choons in the early 1990s. :?:I remember them ... they released some good stuff ... I have quite a few Force Inc releases from the early to mid 90s. It also brings back memories of going to Germany in 1992 |

:D Michael MD, yes it (The Force Inc.) - mixed CD was one of the first "CDs" I ever bought, I think it was titled : - "FORCE - X". I miss that one just as much as I miss another by a different label, all I know that it was titled - "Genetic Error". "Genetic Error" was from the same era and it was one of the strongest acidic "CD" comps; I could find at the time. *Killing In The Name Of Old Acid Tracks!!!!* & yes! they did WARP! & YES! - THEY DID STOMP! I don't know if 'the machines' can make those sounds anymore?   |

Force Inc. as I understand this label was attached to Mille-Plateaux (Cologne), along with Position Chrome, Rittornell, Force Tracks, Red Swing Shift, etc, etc, etc. As Mille-Plateaux (the mother label) was attached very heavily to EFA (distributor) in Germany, they went into receivership around September 2003. (I'm assuming you know that EFA went under last year right?). Mille-Plateaux were owed a LOT of money .... and as you can imagine, these little labels are selling stuff to such a small section of the community, and running on zero profit margin, they wouldn't survive a big incident like that. So, to answer your question, Force Inc went under when Mille-Plateaux went under which went under when EFA went under. Of course, I was recently reading a site in German Language that was referring to the very possible ressurection of Mille-Plateaux, and they were talking about a new release even. There was no mention of the revitialisation of Force Inc, Position Chrome, Tirrornell, etc though. I hope that my German was good enough to read the properly. |

It depends on what you're into - but why don't you check out some of the on-air content on 2SER online ? Goto www.2ser.com, and then just go to the live audio streaming section - and you can listen in from Brisneyland. I'm not sure whether you know, but SER is a community radio station in Sydney that was formed through a collaborated effort between Macquarie Uni & UTS. Anyway, they've got some very good material on there, but if you're into the acidy stort of stuffs, then check out: Transport (Psychadelic & Progressive Trance) - Wednesday nights, 22:30 until 00:00; Audio-Daze (Experimental / Esoteric Electronic) - Wednesday nights 21:00 until 22:30; Methodology (Nice) - Tuesday nights 21:00 until 22:30; Cathode Immersions (Television Station RF Manipulation / Experimental Radio) - Thursday mornings 00:00 until 01:30; Radio Alice (Experimental Radio) - Tuesday mornings 00:00 until 01:30; Music for Big Game Hunting (Avant Avant - hehe) - Saturday mornings 00:00 until 01:30; Droppin' Science (Hip-Hop / Aussie Hip-Hop) - Friday night 20:00 until 22:30; Roooollers Music (DnfnB) - Saturday night 22:00 until 23:30; Dark Energy (DarkWave) - Saturday night 23:30 until Sunday morning 01:00; These are just some - but the entire station's charter is devoted to pushing the boundaries blah blah blah. You'll find specialist music programs and current affairs for most of your left-wing tastes. Music is not only electro-focussed (only 60%) there is also a good spattering of Alternative Country & Western, Big-Band-Era (1910 - 1942) material, Gothic Radio, etc, etc, etc. Check it out online if you have a chance. |
