Well we went along with high hopes I suppose, there was a bit of effort put into the
event, can't complain about the venue, it was beautiful but I do want to question whether
the organisers really knew what the party goers wanted from a outdoor event, the sun was
shining and I was fast coming down from a busy evening of meeting people and exploring
and when the sun was rising and I was seated on a hill watching it, my vision and hearing
was being assaulted by foul hard house music and a few munted people who were still
shaking their fists to the music.
Most of the camp site escaped from the sounds and left only a few dedicated souls the
whole camp site. thank god the music was finally turned off at midday and we were left to
recover under the sun-umbrella and chill, and it's a real shame cause it would have been
great for more people to stay another night.

To the organisers, I think a little jazz music or even some gentle house music would have
been much better to ease us into the day.
I had a great time anyway. Thanks better luck next time

Its just by chance that i came across this message board, looking for the event flyer to
show my friends here in London what i got up to for new year. I was also at Resolution
2003, a pretty chance event as my brother and i were just passing through Whitianga on
New Years Eve. And as it goes i did have a great time.

The sight was beautiful, and up until midnight the music (main stage) was quality. It
was great to hear early on stockwell's finest Mr. Rodney Manuva so far from home, aswell
as some quality NZ MCs..Manual Bundy had some. Sarah and friends - guy in the fur coat,
guy in red baseball cap/t-shirt with camera, Giles and co - some of y'all were wasted,
but you were all very lovely. It was a pleaure to see midnight pass with you lot under
more stars than i've ever seen.

Into the wee small hours (as with all festival-style events) things did become somewhat
messy and after a brief stint of mind-bending techno (it was too much for me) i really
could have done with somewhere to retire to chill out. Rather, the options were house,
trance and more house. Oh, and some very nasty techno. So I agree, perhaps a little
more thought could have been payed to the individuals among us party goers who pass on
the fist shaking and like to preserve a little of their ear drums for posterity. My legs
did finally give out about 8am but sleep was impossible, probably owing to that Euphoria
stuff (never again...now i know how some kids feel when they eat too many sweets) and the
bass pounding through the car. We gave up about 11am drove to a nearby quieter spot to
sleep it off, but it would have been far nicer to stay and enjoy the beautiful day that
followed, rather than having to run from the ferocious techno served for elevenses.

Realistically early mornings might be better accompanied by music just a little sweeter,
in the future. But the rest..music/site/people were fantastic. One new year i won't
forget in an hurry. For all the right reasons.

well im blown away. I too was at Resolution 2003, and im thinking I must be one of those
munted people still shaking their fists late the next morning.I had the best new years,
the DJ lineup in the hardhouse tent was just awesome, and apart from a short excursion
back to the tent for a champagne brekky we cranked until we could crank no more. To the
organisers I say dont change a thing. P.S does anyone know which website the photos
taken by the guy in the red truck will turn up on?
