I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me like the Bush admin. is more concerned with international issues than the threat of attacks from terrorist cells on our own soil. Is as much care taken with this issue as is with bringing terrorists down elsewhere? I was checking out the first couple episodes of Sleeper Cell, a show coming to showtime (cuz I work there), and it seems to show that the FBI has everything under control - planting undercover agents within the cells, intercepting attacks, etc. Do you think this is the case? Or are we oblivious targets for these, what seem to be, normal everyday people like you and me planning to destroy us and our way of life? |

of course it could happen to us, but they can only do so much to control them because we are well mostly a free society, the patriot act caused enough controversy on wether or not it violated our rights. personally i think its better that all the terrorist are for the most part focused on iraq and making sure we dont set up a democracy there, then actually attacking our homeland, it sucks that soldiers are dying but thats what they are trained and paid to do if necessary...... everytime i meet a soldier i ask them wether or not they think we should be over there and they all say yes, its funny how the media plays it up like they are over there against their will |

Hi cheetakittin. Im Dean .I recently read your story and I am concerened as well . The real problem is that only one third of the world can support themselves and the other two thirds are desparate to do these acts because their government has them so paranoid that they will do anything to get their familys ahead . What really has to be done is for our government (or another self supporting government) needs to find way for these countrys to prosper ,even if it means buying all their sand (if thats all they have to sell ) to make glass ,or find any resource they can sell for a profit . If people are somewhat happy they are alot less likely to commit such awful acts. |
