The cd compilation, African Diaspora, is completed. Your copies will be
given to you by Cranbrook Art Museum on November 26, between 6:00 and
6:30PM.

Also, Cranbrook has planned a cd release party for the recording artists
who are on the compilation cd project. The event is open to the public
(free of charge) and will take place in Cranbrook Art Museum’s auditorium
where we will be screening the DVD, “Detroit Electronic in Contemporary
Art: the makings of a Museum Experience”.

In addition, light refreshments will be served and there will be a special
show (performed by Will Walker) to mark the closing of the exhibit “Looking
Both Ways: Art of the Contemporary African Diaspora”.

After the cd release party at Cranbrook, there will be an “after-party” at
“The Works” from 11pm to 6am. The address is as follows: 1846 Michigan
Avenue (@Rosa Park) in Detroit.

Performances will include:

(Live) Sean Deason, Malik, the (SNI) and Dane Strable

(Djs) Felton Howard “The Master”, John Clees, Derek Fox, Jonnie Perrella,
Kyle Jay

(Bonus attraction) A tag-team dj match between “Dj La FEMME” and “Das
CLOSER”.

Thanks for your support and involvement in “Looking Both Ways: Art of the
Contemportary Africian Diaspora” Cut-n-Mix Series.

Respectfully,

Herdest Cummings
Music Curator
Cranbrook Art Museum
