"The Ninth Annual British Rory Gallagher Tribute Concert"
Saturday 29th May 2004 at The Boardwalk, Sheffield, England

After six successful years at Dukinfield Town Hall The Ninth Annual Rory Gallagher
Tribute Concert is on the move! Alterations to the Town Hall means we will not have
access this year but we've found a great new venue in Sheffield.

'The Boardwalk' is a 450 capacity dedicated music venue with excellent up to date
facilities, great bar and superb sound system. Sheffield itself is an exciting city with
much to see and do turning the gig into a great weekend. Details of tickets, transport,
directions, hotels etc. can be found at the bottom of this page.

For the first time this year I am delighted to welcome 'Laundromat' to England. Those
among you who have seen this top Rory Band in action in their native Holland will know
the impact these guys will make in Sheffield. Led by Danny Vlaspoel on guitar
'Laundromat' have a very pure Rory sound which I know you will enjoy. Joeke Wouda on
bass, Ed Verschoor on vocals and the sensational Rob "chiseled from stone" Heijne on
drums make up the remainder of this great quartet.

I didn't invite Brute Force & Ignorance to the gig last year and immediately suffered
withdrawal symptoms! Markus Kerkeling, Thomas Kersting, Angscar Neimuller and Frantzl
Gerd-Albers make up my personal favourite Rory Band.

Sinnerboy have been gigging really hard in the last year and have been knocking on new
doors all over Great Britain, Ireland and the continent. "Bringing Rory to the people" is
their No1 aim and Steve Richardson, Dave Burns, and Barry Barnes are doing just that.

Chris Newman was on the bill with Sinnerboy at the London Tribute Convention in
Hammersmith and I'm glad to tell you he's here at Sheffield too. Chris has released a
superb album of acoustic Rory songs played with great style and precision - enjoy his
live performance.

The usual Rory 'goodies' will be up for a raffle again and the whole evening will be once
again kept in order by MC Marcus Connoughton who will be flying in from Ireland.

There is a 'Travel Inn' next to the venue (to book ring 0870 2428000 or
www.travelinn.co.uk)
-roomrate is £46.95 for a double room with en-suite bath & shower, telly, tea, coffee, &
chocolate (but don't own up to drinking the chocolate - this is supposed to be a rock
gig)! Breakfast is extra at £4.50 continental or £6.50 if you fancy furring your arteries
up a bit. Alternatively there are plenty of cheaper cafe's (one very close) and fast food
joints in easy reach.
You can get to Sheffield by rail from all over the country, there is an express service
from Manchester Airport and an after gig return to Manchester Piccadilly (00.14 and
02.11)

The British Rory Gallagher Concert was first staged in 1996 on the first anniversary of
our hero's untimely passing. This makes this concert the first, and only unbroken tribute
show in the world! We receive visitors regularly from all over Great Britain and Ireland,
Holland, Germany, France, The United States, Canada and even Bermuda! If you are a Rory
fan then this show is definitely worth the trip, Everybody is there to show their love
and appreciation of the best Rock and blues man ever to walk this earth. The show is
endorsed and attended by Donal Gallagher who usually gives us a few words of wisdom on
the microphone!
