Impressive list as it is, Dozzy's recognition has come from having developed an immediately identifiable style, something rare in the modern era of techno music. Dozzy's distinctive hypnotic, spacey, deep and trippy style references all music of his past, but it's music firmly from the future. It's music you haven't heard before, his long sets taking the dancefloor on a psychedelic techno journey, outputting many textures, sounds and emotions - at times being unsettling, groovy, familiar, beautiful or intense. His sets are full of atmospheres, enveloping bass, gurgling acid lines and cavernous sounds conjuring imagery of deep water, or distant space, or an alien landscape, it's music to close your eyes, breathe deeply and get totally lost to.
His critically accalimed 2010 long player "K" a stunning largely ambient work has an analogue acid techno soul. Contrast this with the industrial aggression of his releases on Aquaplano, the housey groove of 'Disco Infecta' on Mule Electronic, or the intense caving sound on his "Voices from the Lake" project on Prologue and you see an artist in his prime who cannot be pigeon holed.
Strange Signals is looking very much forward to Donato's 3 hour set, his first ever in Australia.
Supporting Donato is Dave Choe (Glitch) and Zootie (Mad Racket).
