La Di Da brings one of this years most exciting disco acts to Melbourne. Aeroplane hail from Belgium and have remixed the likes of MGMT, Cut Copy, Shortwave Set, Hercules and Love Affair and Lindstrom to name a few. Lushed out cosmic sounds comprised of lively bass lines and elated melodies create the mile high sound of Aeroplanes moving discoscapes.
Nu disco, comsic edits and psyched out dancefloor red herrings will be played by the cabin crew support DJs, Chestwig, Glitch vs Quirk, Dr Disconyx, Jean Pierre, and Andee Frost. Smash bang crew upstairs.
Supported by Melbourne's finest disco pushers in an intimate space, this will no doubt the most aeronautical disco to be held underground!
Artist Biography
Aeroplane is the Belgium-based project of Stephen Fasano and Vito De Luca.Think psyché guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves and catchy bass lines meets disco beats.
They released their 1st 12" in 2007 Caramellas/Aeroplane" on the Eskimo label and they gained critical acclaim from some of the biggest worldwide DJ's and producers such as Laurent Garnier, Mylo, Optimo, Danny Howells, Joakim, Mike Simonetti and last but not least Lindstrom & Prins Thomas.
The second 12" was released a few months after and due to the success of the 12"s, they were asked to do a number of remixes for artists such as Cobra Dukes, Das Pop, Low Motion Disco and Coyote.
Their third 12" "Whispers" will be released in May which is a collaboration with London Singer Kathy Diamond In the next few months they are a number of remixes coming for Lindström (Feedelity), Cut Copy (Modular) and Allez Allez (Eskimo), but also their debut album is in the pipeline for Eskimo which is planned for release at the end of 2008.
As DJ's they are residents @ the well-known Make Up Club in Ghent, where they play a mix of old and nu disco, psyche pop, classic house & Balearic.
