Three top bands, Mankala Beat, Más Y Más and Quirky Turquoise, are due to take the stage on Saturday 16th August for an outdoor mini festival behind the Lime Kiln pub in Wirksworth. Mankala Beat, a high energy, Afro-Caribbean band brings together eight musicians from diverse places in the world such as Martinique, Zambia, Tenerife and of course England. Mankala’s flame burns hottest and brightest when performing live, most recently seen live at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and now a special visit to Wirksworth!
From Anglo-Spanish origins Más Y Más trio brings a hot flavoured style Spanish guitar sounds, whereas Wirksworth’s own Quirky Turquoise offer homemade pop songs with an off-beat twist. Expect a night of vibrant funky fusion, latin beats, bit of reggae and world music sounds, with a hint of rock and pop, in a relaxed and friendly festival atmosphere.
