Guitarist John Russell has assembled a remarkable group of musicians to take part in this annual three day celebration of all things improvised.
12 highly creative and individual musicians coming together to play in changing permutations, from the whole ensemble to duos. With backgrounds in jazz, folk, rock, electronica, computer music, kinetic art and contemporary music, all the musicians share a common interest in the delights of free improvisation and are all highly regarded in their respective fields.
Like all Russell's Quaqua groups, this group will only be playing in this form at this event, so it really is a case of, 'You will never have heard anything like this before!' Definitely not to be missed!
Each evening will start and finish with a short piece by the full ensemble and all the musicians will be playing in at least one other group.
Musicians taking part are: Bill Hsu - interactive computer Chris Burn - trumpet Dylan Bates - violin Hannah Marshall - cello Jean Borde - bass John Butcher - saxophone John Russell - guitar Lol Coxhill - saxophone Max Eastley - self-made instruments Paul G. Smyth - piano Roger Turner - percussion Ute Wassermann - voice.
(Concessionary tickets will be available at the club only. Individual events £5, all three events £15)
