Melbourne independent label Two Bright Lakes tour the east coast of Australia to launch Seagull's debut album ‘Goodbye Weather’ and to introduce their visually engaging shows to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne from 2nd - 9th October 2008. Since forming in 2007 the amorphous gang have released records by Nick Huggins and Seagull, launched a website (www.twobrightlakes.com), produced some exciting digital art and animation and put on many exciting live shows at venues throughout Melbourne. The label is continuously evolving and the tour this October will see them
grow further still, collaborating with exciting musicians and artists from around Australia.
Headlining all shows (except Hopetoun) will be 'Two Bright Lakes' members Seagull, Otouto (Hazel Brown) and Touch Typist. After the successful launch of their album 'Goodbye Weather' in June, Seagull will bring their apocalyptic folk romance to stages once more. Hazel Brown's bright new baby band Otouto will be playing melting pot pop songs old and new, showcasing work from their upcoming album, recorded by Nick Huggins (Seagull, Whitley). Pop Noise trio Touch Typist have an album in the works too, and will be happily previewing new tracks as well as some older favourites from their Feral Media mini-album of 2007.
The tour is a celebration of creativity, the bands playing alongside performance art, projections, short films and music at Exquisite Corpse in Sydney on October 2nd. The rest of the tour’s visual show will be a collection of films and animation, designed and curated by Blake Byron-Smith. Returning to Melbourne on October 9th, the Northcote Social Club will be the venue for a humble extravaganza with support from Kid Sam and Psuche , whose debut album will be released through Two Bright Lakes later this year. Djs Blake Adams and Tigga will close the night with some music to move your feet and turn the corners of your mouth skywards.
