PRESS RELEASE: 30/12/08
Eric Prydz Tour Cancellation
It is with much regret that Future Entertainment has announced the cancellation of Eric Prydz's Australian and New Zealand tour.
This was to be Eric's first trip to Australia and Future Entertainment had been working with Mainstage Artists on the tour for over two years. They are absolutely devastated that so much hard work has resulted in the tour being cancelled under these circumstances.
Eric's fear of flying has been widely documented. He has been working to resolve these issues over the last 24 months and was confident he would be able to travel to Australia and New Zealand, and was looking forward to the tour.
Despite initially getting on the plane, Eric's fear of flying ultimately got the better of him and he was taken off the flight. He then made three further unsuccessful attempts with other flights - with the same unfortunate result.
This experience was very traumatic for him and for his family, who were to travel with him.
His management issued the following statement today:
"It is with great regret that we must announce that Eric Prydz has not travelled to Australia. It has been well documented that Eric has had a history of air travel issues and regrettably after having boarded his flight in London he had to leave the flight and was unable to re-board.
Another flight was then re-booked for the following day but again after boarding the flight, a panic attack ensued and he again had to leave the airplane, it was then decided to abort the tour. This is huge disappointment for all concerned, especially Eric and he sincerely apologises to all ticketholders of his scheduled events.
We can only apologise to Future Entertainment who have done everything in their power to make these shows possible and have been nothing less than professional throughout. "
