Fronted by fiery guitarist-cum singer Jess Green, The New Dynamites spent autumn 2008 at BigJesusBurger Studios. The result is 4 killer tracks to be released 2009.
PUNK REBEL, the first single, rockets forth with a stop-start new-wave funk groove, reminiscent of Bowie and Talking heads, and morphs into balsy AC/DC no-frills guitar stomp. Along the way, Green rocks out a blitzin' guitar solo, heralding the new era for girls with guitars.
This four piece has meshed together the dirty-blues groove only years on the beer stained carpets of Sydney’s pubs can produce. Members Arne Hanna, Tim Curnick and James Hauptmann have worked together with Sydney greats including Tina Harrod, Elana Stone, and the legendary Jackie Orszaczky. The band draws regularly on Arne’s lengthy career, which has included performances with Nick Cave and Michael Hutchence as well as more recently Jim Conway and The Resurrectors.
