Two of the country's most formidable folk-rocking forces, The Justin Walshe Folk Machine (WA) and The Handsome Young Strangers (NSW) hit the frog and toad in December for The Colonial Convoy Tour: a raucous road trip of tall tales, long nights and ferocious folk music.

Combining flamboyant storytelling and dramatic harmonies with classic showmanship and truckloads of energy, The Justin Walshe Folk Machine take you on a foot-stomping journey from the quiet introspection of folk to the wilds of gospel-infused country rock with feet firmly rooted in Australian soil. These recent WAM Song of the Year nominees tour in support of their current independent release "The Man Without a Bag" and road test songs from their forthcoming album due early next year.

The Handsome Young Strangers sing tunes about bushrangers, shearing, droving, convict hardship, sports heroes, war veterans and other iconic Australians. They take their influences from such revered Australian acts as The Bushwackers, Redgum, Roaring Jack and Weddings Parties Anything whilst displaying an originality that shines through in their own songs.... and all delivered with the intensity of a runaway Victa lawnmower! The HYS take a break from recording the follow up to their acclaimed "Shane Warne EP," to embark on The Colonial Convoy Tour and remind us why ‘folk’ is a four letter word.

Future Events: The Justin Walshe Folk Machine & The Handsome Young Strangers play The Exeter Hotel on Friday Dec 12
