Barrel House live

Venue: Bon Amici,Toowoomba

Time: 8:30pm

Port Macquarie based trio Barrel House came together early 2007 when Singer/Guitarist Dwaine Cameron felt the need to experience a bigger onstage experience that he just couldnÂ't fulfil playing solo. In search for this experience Dwaine recruited two amazing local musicians in Jarin Penniall and Jordan Howell to form Barrel House, a three piece blues, roots, rock, dance and funk outfit that in itÂ's short existence has begun to get people to take notice.
The Â"ExperienceÂ" has since been achieved but by no means settled for. Barrel House are continually challenging themselves to make each show better then the last. With over 250 shows under their belt covering a good chunk of Australia, Barrel House are working very hard to become the ultimate live band. While there is structure around their live set no two performances will be the same as the band like to feel their way through each and every song often letting crowd reactions determine the length of a particular section. It is these grooves that keep people out of their seats all night.
In 2008 Barrel House had began to see their hard work paying of. Since June 2008 Barrel House have signed a worldwide management deal with Cross Section run by Ted Gardner and Scott Mesiti. On the live front Barrel House have played Open Arms festival through winning a triple j unearthed competition, it was this exposure that gave the band good airplay on Triple J and sent them to the top of the triple j unearthed roots charts. The band have also played Festival of the Sun, Great Noosa Camp Out and supported amazing artists such as Ani DiFranco, Blue King Brown, Jeff Lang, Mama Kin, Ash Grunwald and many more. To top it of Barrel House will be performing at the 20th Anniversary of Byron Bay Bluesfest in April. Sharing the bill with amazing artists such as Ben Harper, John Butler, Michale Franti, Xavier Rudd, Blue King Brown and so many more. .
2009 will see the release of the bands first ep Â'Open RoadÂ'. Barrel House have managed to break free from the earthy feel of other roots bands to become something new entirely. Barrel House have added extra dimensions with trumpet from Jason Heise and stunning backing vocals from Lisa Hunt who has graced the stage with Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton and James Brown to name a few. How do you get a singer of this calibre to sing on your first ep? You ask her nicelyÂ. .. the band were stunned when she agreed.
Open Road was produced by Scott Mesiti and engineered by Phil Eades in Port Macquarie. Begging, borrowing and stealing any half decent room to record in once the tracks were recorded the masters were sent to Tony Buchan (Macromantics, Blue King Brown, Kid Confucius) at 301 Sydney for mixing. To top it of Open Road had itÂ's it final touches done at Sterling Sound Mastering in New York by Chris Gehringer. Cross Section management have set up the bands release through Inertia distribution allowing Barrel House to maintain its independent and creative freedom.
