Which piano trio or string quartet ensemble will rise to the top during the Asia Pacific Chamber Music Competition held in Melbourne during 1-5 July, 2009.

Twelve teams have been selected to perform from Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and China. 42 young musicians are playing at the Melbourne Recital Centre for significant cash prizes, record contracts and concert engagements.

The calibre of chamber music talent in Australia is undeniable and by including our sister countries such as New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and China into this event raises the stakes and rewards for 42 young musicians even higher.

This exciting chamber music competition attracts thousands of visitors, managers, jurors, musicians, patrons, tourists and volunteers to Melbourne for the week. The recitals will be broadcast live in its entirety by ABC Classic FM for the rest of the nation to hear.

The audience will follow their exciting and invigorating musical interpretations of the chamber masters work dating from the 18th century to our contemporary Australian composers in vogue today.
