80's Punk/Pop heavyweights Voodoo Lust return for a one off re-union show at the Sandringham Hotel Newtown on Saturday 6 March, 2010. Voodoo Lust appear with very special guests, acclaimed early 90’s power pop/rock outfit The Barbarellas, who will be celebrating their 20 year anniversary, appearing for only the second time this millennium. Also appearing are 25th Floor performing the early material of punk high priestess Patti Smith.

Voodoo Lust formed in Brisbane late '85. Taking only a few months to release their first single ‘Shake, Shake Hey Yeh!’ Topping the indie charts, they relocated to Sydney, heading to Trafalgar Studios for the follow up single ‘Stop Breakin' My Heart’ and the Number one indie spot was repeated, two mini albums followed.

Continuous alternative chart success was backed up by relentless touring, playing many headlining shows to their enthusiastic fan base and supporting acts such as; Iggy Pop, Wall of Voodoo, Lime Spiders, Painters and Dockers, The Hard Ons, Hoodoo Gurus, The Divinyls, The Johnny's, X, The Sunnyboys, The Screaming Tribesmen, The Hitmen, Spy vs Spy and more. In their six year career, Voodoo Lust played over 1020 shows, cementing them as a live, pub rock favourite. The Voodoo's were invited to be part of several compilation albums including Skate Hard and Minutes to Midnight, including the likes of David Bowie, Ozzy Osborne and The Lime Spiders.

The Barbarellas signed to Citadel records in early 1990 and hit the ground running with their debut 7” Dying Inside/ Forget About You. High rotation was immediately achieved on the Triple J network, which saw the live profile of the band soar.

The Barbarellas’ brand of punchy power pop/ rock was indelibly stamped on the Sydney music scene with the release of the ep "Fringe". Heavy airplay on Triple J for "Depression" saw "Fringe" peak at number two on the ARIA Independent Charts. Extensive touring with the likes of The Clouds, Ratcat, The Falling Joys, Died Pretty, and The Beasts of Bourbon followed. The "Quit Skylarking" ep followed shortly after. The prophetically-titled compilation Slumber was released in 1992, the same year the band called it a day. Limited quantities of the long-out-of-print CD Slumber will be available on the night.
