While on a production break from the hit musical The Sapphires, Casey Donovan will come together with new wave rock band Urban Stone for a 6 weeks tour of NSW contemporary venues.
Urban Stone in December 2007, won the Australian final of the Global Battle Of The Bands (GBOB). They went to London, finishing 7 th in the World out of 3, 000 bands from 33 countries. Urban Stone returned to Australia and worked with the likes of Doc Neeson ( Angels ) and Ian Moss, ( Cold Chisel ). Their debut album, Thats What She Said was released in November 2009 and the band is headlining at the Oceania Rock Festival in Noumea in 2010. Urban Stone is certain to continue to make their mark on the Australian music scene.
After the hype of Australian Idol died down, Casey Donovan spent time re-evaluating her career and re-establishing herself as one of Australia s most promising artistes. First came an independent EP Eye 2 Eye, followed by Vibe Alive Tours and a regular segment on Deadly Sounds (Syndicated across ABC Radio). Recently, Casey enjoyed a return to the touring stage in the hit Women Of Soul concept show and a starring role in the contemporary opera Miracle In Brisbane at the 2009 Brisbane Festival . Casey is currently starring in Company Bs production of The Sapphires .
Casey was nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the 2009 Deadlys, adding another nomination to her ARIA and Deadly wins and nominations.
During their NSW tour, Urban Stone will perform songs from their debut album Thats What She Said (released in November 2009) while Casey Donovan will showcase a body of new material written over the course of her roller coaster musical journey, along with a few crowd favourites.
Casey and Urban Stone will be joined by special guest bands during their much anticipated tour.
