Time: 2pm - 8pm
Shiftless Shuffle legendary Dancefloor Jazz session is back on Sunday 28th April, and we’ll be featuring one of the DJ legends of the Music Scene, Dr Bob Jones! Bob needs no introduction to anyone who has followed the Soul, Dance and Jazz scene or attended a Caister, Southport, Bournemouth, Margate Weekender and many more we could mention. Having just celebrated his 70th Birthday, Bob returns to Shiftless Shuffle for an exclusive Dancefloor Jazz set which will take us through an amazing musical journey spanning over 50 years of music. Previous Events: Shiftless Shuffle
Bob is sharing the decks with Perry Louis, founder and Promoter of Shiftless Shuffle, Messin’ Around, the JazzCotech International Weekender and of course the ever popular Weak at the Knees club night. There’s no doubt our Duo of DJs will keep the Dance floor busy with music spanning all genres of danceable Jazz and JazzFunk, from Fusion to Latin, Afro, BeBop and beyond!
As always, we’ll start Shiftless Shuffle with a 1-hour long class in the specialist Street-Fusion Jazz Dance style at 2pm which is open to Novices and experienced Dancers alike and will be tailored to all needs on the day, providing the opportunity to learn the rhythmical, intricate footwork and so-called drop moves that are iconic and exclusive to this style. Teaching it are the hosts of the day – JazzCotech Dancers who have danced with all the greats from Incognito to James Brown and Roy Ayers and who are currently the only Dance group teaching this style.
Shiftless Shuffle is now in its 19th year and each month, we bring people together by sharing our passion for music with the dancers, music lovers and party persons alike. Shiftless has people flocking to it from all corners of the UK and abroad, with people travelling from as far as Japan, USA and Europe to join us. Billed as “the coolest thing to do in London on a Sunday” by Time Out, Shiftless Shuffle is the place to hang out, enjoy the good vibes spread by great people, be inspired to strut your stuff to some incredible music, or simply kick back with a drink and enjoy watching the many Dancers do their thing.
