Set to embark on their third Australian tour, the Breakfastaz aka Froe, Gav and Merf, are renowned for epitomising the "nu-skool" sound and have definitely had a massive impact on the world of breakbeat since bursting onto the scene in 2004.
Originating from West London, these young guns have brought a wide range of influences into their 20+ releases and remixes, which have featured on the Against the Grain, Mob and Passenger labels.
After initial recognition as one of IDJ Magazine's "Players of the Year" in 2004, the lads went on to win Best Breakthrough Act at the Breakspoll Awards in 2005, and backed it up with nominations for Best Remix, Best Compilation and Best DJ in 2006. Their rough and tough tracks have also received widespread acclaim from industry heavyweights like Krafty Kuts, The Plump DJ's, Freestylers, Tayo, Ali B and Aquasky.
As hosts of a weekly show on Pyrotechnic Radio (UK) and with the launch of their independent label "The Breakfast Club" just around the corner, it's clear to all that the future of breakbeat is in very safe hands.
