SUGARTIME BURLESQUE GIVES YOU BOYS!
After three years as Sydney’s leading cabaret entertainment group and talent agency SUGARTIME finally brings its enormous audience what they have been crying out for… BOY BURLESQUE at the Oxford Art Factory on Sat. 5th April! Like their popular ‘Scarlet Debut’ nights of new cabaret talent, SUGARTIME will feature not only world famous male performers but also emerging male artists of the stage. SCARLET BEAUS will be a full night of provocative shows, with sexy all-male singers, dancers and strip-tease acts.
Head-lining the SCARLET BEAUS show will be Ryan Styles, a man known as the ‘international drag terrorist’ a performer from London fresh from the Adelaide Fringe Festival with his hilarious and disturbing repertoire of mime, magic and extreme make-up. He has toured the world and performed in shows from the Guggenheim in NYC to the Zurich Festival of Arts and Glastonbury.
Australia’s B-Boy turned international visual and installation artist Andy Uprock featured in SUGARTIME’s critically acclaimed touring show ‘The Absinth Club’ last year and brings a new solo dance work to the SCARLET BEAUS despite busy preparing for his new role as the cultural attaché for MOOKS and his round-the-world ‘cup-rocking’ art exhibition.
Dallas Della Force is the long ago created and continually re-crafted alter ego of Sydney
performer and stylist Daniel Squires Cater. With a strong focus drawn from the details
and styles of fashion history and popular culture, traditional drag and burlesque
performance, Dallas has become a cross cultural identity. Seen in the smoky corner stages of Kooky and Man Jam to the bright lights of the Opera House Studio, no wonder Dallas has graced the cover of gay community paper Sx News no less than nine times in her exploration of hyper-masculinity and female icons.
Also on the bill is Trash Vaudeville, the ‘other half’ of Sydney’s most famous Hoola Hoop outfit ‘Hula La’ with SUGARTIME’s Kira Carden. Sexy swing dancer Cougar Jones, magician Adam Mada and many others will make for a packed night led by actor Drew Fairly, one of Sydney’s funniest MCs.
