A classic Irish comic drama, set in rural Ireland in the early 1900's
Charming stranger, Christy Mahon, has arrived at Flaherty’s Pub,fleeing the authorities and proclaiming deeds of violence in the name of freedom. For the locals, Christy's story enlivens their dull and dreary world. Even Flaherty’s daughter seems to have fallen for his adventurous charm. But when the past catches up with him, will the locals still embrace his heroism or leave him stranded?
