This Junglettes is also the official QLD launch of DJ FRICTION's exclusive Australian mix, ‘The Shogun Assassins’, out now on Pattern through Inertia.. CD Giveaways on the night!!

After the success of last year’s ‘Next Level 2’ CD, D&B kingpin DJ Friction utilises his diverse Shogun audio Empire to deliver ‘The Shogun Assassins’ – an outstanding selection of drum & bass covering the full spectrum of the scene and licensed in Australia to Inertia’s in-house dance/electronic imprint, Pattern.

Featuring 21 tracks from the Shogun vaults, including new and exclusive beats and classics from their extensive back catalogue and exquisitely mixed live by Friction, this CD gives an excellent representation of Drum & Bass music. Featured artists include Friction, Noisa, Jonny L, Commix, State Of Mind, Break, D-Bridge, Klute and many more.

Shogun Audio is the brainchild and life-long ambition of Friction. Since its launch in 2004, Shogun has steadily been gaining recognition for being one of the most forward-looking, diverse and exciting drum & bass record labels in the industry.

A self-confessed old school vinyl junkie, setting up a label to support his beloved vinyl habit was a natural next step for Friction, having firmly established himself as a DJ and producer.

The label has picked up legions of loyal fans in its short lifespan, with many buying Shogun releases as a matter of course knowing that they’ll hit the mark. Shogun’s output spans the full spectrum of the genre, and has rapidly become synonymous with high quality drum & bass.

A camp of core Shogun Artists provide the foundations for the label, with Friction & K-Tee, recent signings Icicle, Alix Perez and SpectraSoul at the helm. Regular musical input comes from the likes of D-Bridge, Commix, Break, Noisia, & Klute, amongst others, ensuring premiere output with every single release.
