SOUNDS GOOD UNDERGROUND... Yes it sure does! Something about music in a basement that just reverberates well with the soul... Two of London's most promising House labels 'Artizan Music' and 'Universal Vibes', join forces for this cool new monthly Friday nighter at ace Brixton night spot 'Babalou' (formerly Bug Bar)… With the demise of so many London venues in recent times, Brixton is fast becoming more and more of a major player in the notoriously fickle nightlife scene. Alongside Dex Club, PlanB, White Horse, Dogstar, The Prince and Mass, Babalou's programming is first rate. 'Sounds Good Underground' is definitely no exception… On resident duties we have label heads JAFAR & PADDY FREEFORM. Just back from a whirlwind tour of Brasil, Jafar has been taking no prisoners lately. Counting Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink and Jimpster amongst the fans of his many releases as Poussez / Jafar & Touch, the boy is really making his mark internationally now. Paddy Freeform's Universal Vibes meanwhile, is already on its 10th release, whilst Paddy's own Radio Show is proving more popular than ever… Joining the pair on the night, are two more stalwarts of the London scene; Jaded’s RAYMUNDO RODRIQUEZ and Coincidence Records JOZIF. Ray has grafted for so long in London that he’s earned himself the moniker ‘The Dj who never sleeps’. When he’s not hosting his weekly MOS Radio Show or Jaded at The End, Ray’s holding down residencies at Cherry Jam, AKA, The Loft (Maidstone), Bi-monthly spots in Rome & Milan, or just generally galavanting around the place djing and not sleeping. Jozif, Rays dj partner at their Wrong parties, is now to be found at the excellent east London raveups ‘Another Fine Mess’. That is, when he’s not producing his own brand of visceral dancefloor bombs for Coincidence Records or his own Just Pork Recordings. A great opportunity to see the pair of them brought back together for a south-london shindig. So there we have it, an ace night ahead of cutting edge, deep, electronic, house music delivered by four of London’s hardest working artists.
