Announcing their debut single ‘Undressed’

Melbournian four-piece Audiac are proud to announce the release of their debut single ‘Undressed’.

The Single

‘Undressed’ is chiselled in the fashion that all great rock music should be – fast, catchy, cheeky, and music that sounds best when the stereo is peaking at 11. The track is the epitome of driven rock, escalating from an understated groove to a full-throttle explosion that shakes at the speaker cones.

‘Undressed’, the first single taken from Audiac’s forthcoming debut long player ‘No Come Down’, is out through Echobase Records and at radio NOW! Check out the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt2XZib3p2Y

The Band

Dunedin-formed, Melbourne-based outfit Audiac have gone through somewhat of a turbulent history to reach their present incarnation. The brainchild of Andrew Schraa, Audiac’s initial manifestation was short and fraught – whoever said putting two brothers in a band was a bad idea was right, as the band was shaken by arguments and tension. In truth, it wasn’t until Andrew moved to London to play with fellow Dunedin-based outfit Spa that Audiac began to find their footing. During Spa’s time in London they became almost as renowned for their all night parties above an illegal snooker den and their troubles with the local Peckham criminal element, as they did for their music.

Whilst in London, Andrew began working at the Premises Studios, home to the likes of The Bloc Party, Rakes, The Horrors, and Lily Allen. It was in this breeding ground that Andrew decided to resurrect Audiac, and promptly set about recording a handful of tracks that would go on to form the crux of Audiac’s debut album ‘No Come Down’.

Moving to Melbourne to finish the album, Andrew (guitar, vocals) met guitarist Nic Pallett. After a quick trip back to NZ, Andrew returned to find Nic had the new line up assembled and ready to go. With Melbournian Malcolm McMahon on drums and bassist Laurence Berry (hailing from the UK’s Midlands) joining the fold – an international line-up for an internationally birthed album – the band set about taking Audiac into a new live realm.

The Album

Recorded in London, mixed in Melbourne, Audiac’s debut album ‘No Come Down’ is a release that shines above the electro-manicured sound doing the rounds in the Australian music pig pen – bringing a grit and rock edge missing in today’s music. Mixed at St Kilda’s Hothouse studio (Oasis, Franz Ferdinand), ‘No Come Down’ has undergone a prime gestation, and with its impending release on Melbourne-based label Echobase, Audiac have set about establishing themselves on the Australian music scene. More details to follow shortly!
