| Two years ago when St Kilda festival was resurrected the festival organisers decided that it would be in the best interests of the local community to delete the dance music stage at the Catani Gardens citing SAFETY concerns.
It's ok to have a rock stage, world music stage, jazz stage but a dance stage is far too dangerous in their minds.

Bring back the beats in 2009 !!!!!!!!!
The more people that join the more we can petition the City of Port Phillip and the principle organisers.
The summer beats soundsystem was 100 % privately funded by us with absolutely NO financial support from the City of Port Phillip or their sponsors.
Photo as profile (summer beats stage at Catani Gardens) featured as the main image of the St Kilda Festival website for several years before it was deemed that the stage was too dangerous.
