Informa, the owners of global mega-events including the Monaco Yacht Show, Cityscape, 3GSM and The Bride Show are now organising Cinex Asia 2009, a two day conference with an accompanying exhibition for film & television professionals. Dedicated to production, post-production, distribution and exhibition requirements, with a special focus on the buoyant animation & 3D stereoscopic sub-sectors, the event provides India with its first fully focussed access point for up-to-date information exchange & cutting edge solutions from within India & around the world.  To be staged in the region’s entertainment hub of Mumbai, Cinex Asia is all set to showcase the latest and the best in the worlds of film and television.

Cinex Asia brings significant brand-building opportunities to both domestic and international companies, as well as to consumer brands seeking to extend their reach within the lucrative Indian film and television industries. The event also explores methods to refine local production processes and enhance efficiency and organisational skills by benchmarking against Indian and international leaders. It provides a focussed platform wherein Indian producers will be able to access both domestic and international products, practices and services on home ground and provide vital networking opportunities.

India’s M&E sector is one of the country’s fastest-growing industries, and according to a recent PWC report, the growth potential for the industry is set to be at 10.4% in the coming year. By embracing multiple platforms, expanding into new locations and exploiting the potential of under-penetrated ones, domestic players have managed to build the industry to a level where it is now receiving significant international attention and investment.

Increasingly, international providers for content-enabling technologies and solutions are heading to India to be among the first to break into what is perceived as a market poised to become one of the world’s most buoyant in terms of film and production technology.

One of the key benefits of Cinex Asia will be the vast opportunities for building relationships and networking. Delegates will include directors, cinematographers, representatives from production houses and studios and other key decision-makers from Indian film and television industry. The event is supported by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

A highlight of the show will be The Hollywood Institute’s 2-Day Film School by top US film instructor Dov S-S Simens. Simens’ past students include Hollywood luminaries such as Danny Boyle, Will Smith, Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino. Additionally, there will be focused seminars and discussions on issues relevant to today’s markets and economy.

For the first time in India comes an exhibition and conference, truly dedicated to the crucial verticals of production, post production, distribution and exhibition.
