CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Nominations are now open for the United Nations Association of Australia National Media Peace Awards 2010. "The Awards were initiated as a National Program in 1978 and recognise the role of the media in promoting social justice and humanitarian issues as well as generating awareness within
communities that leads to public debate and policy change," states Patricia Collett, UNAA Victoria Executive Director. Journalists and producers whose work has appeared in the Australian public media between 12 September 2009 and 10 September 2010 are encouraged to nominate now.

    Winners of the 2010 Media Peace Awards will be announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner to be held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on Friday 22 October. We invite the Australian community to join us at this gala event to celebrate the outstanding achievements of this year's winners and finalists.
