<title>FORT KNOX FIVE DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE</title>
<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4155.html</link>
<description>
Release Date: 31 January 2009
Label/Distributor: Fort Knox Recordings/ Inertia

Radio Free DC sees the Fort Knox boys delivering universal salutations of peace with such a heavy dose of horns, brass, keys and - well - funk, that it would even get James Brown breaking it down.

An influential force in the international funk and breaks scene, Fort Knox Five are already responsible for an arsenal of crowd bouncing singles and remixes including monster mixes for A. Skillz and Krafty Kuts, Kraak &amp; Smaak, Ursula 1000, Dynamo Productions, and Mo Horizons, as well as remixes for the legendary Tito Puente, Louis Armstrong, and Bob Marley.

The Guardian UK says &quot;These guys put the 'fun' into 'funky', the 'aargh!' into 'R&amp;B'. FKF are fairly bursting with life. Imagine if PUBLIC ENEMY were a go-go-band, if SLY &amp; THE FAMILY STONE made an album with PRINCE PAUL at the controls, if CURTIS MAYFIELD joined forces with a stoned BOMB SQUAD, if AFRIKA BAMBAATAA had managed to coax one final tour of studio duty out of N...

<title>Deep 1 EP featuring DJ Hi-Shock Remix</title>
<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4148.html</link>
<description>
                                                                DJ Warp: DEEP 1 EP (incl. DJ Hi-Shock Remix) cat# elek018 Deep 1 EP kicks off with DJ Hi-Shock Remix, and as you would expect, Hi-Shock blatantly feels right at home remixing a track with such atmosphere. The track starts by building on the atmosphere created in the original with more useful reverb and effective panning, opening the stereo field. Movement is created with kick drum pattern variations before the introduction of the Hi-Shock trademark arrpegiated bass line that really takes this track up a notch or two. Perfect for the transition into putting the dancefloor to work. Deep 1 Original Mix is s a sound scape of phasing percussion and delayed warm pads layered on top of a kick and hi hat combination that keeps this deep little number chugging along. A nice use of reverb really creates the space desired here in a track that would not be out of place on a Code Red Compilation back in the day. Sunday Mor

<title>GROOVEAROUND</title>
<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4156.html</link>
<description>

Hotlegs Records is proud to present : Hotlegs&amp;#226;&amp;#8222;&amp;#162; first album called &amp;#8220;Groovearound&amp;#8221;.
All superstar Deejays started out playing records in their mom&amp;#226;&amp;#8364;&amp;#8482;s basement. So it&amp;#226;&amp;#8364;&amp;#8482;s important to look for new up and coming talent. Recently we came across a group from Paris composed by Julian David B and Arthur Scop named HOTLEGS.

Music is music and it could be accessed from anywhere and stay ecclectic.
Their single &amp;#226;&amp;#8364;&amp;#339;A Man Tonight&amp;#226;&amp;#8364; is out for downloads and a new album &amp;#194;&amp;#171;Groove Around&amp;#194;&amp;#187; is released
Those are really good dance tracks getting played by established DJs. There&amp;#226;&amp;#8364;&amp;#8482;s quite a lot of competition out there for DJs / producers.
It&amp;#226;&amp;#8364;&amp;#8482;s saturated by music lovers who wants to have their share of the glory.

So to really stand out, you have to be exceptionally good.
The Hotlegs are doing their own thing. They claim to have more to offer compare to o

<title>LITTLE NOBODY feat. ROBO*BRAZILEIRA -</title>
<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4139.html</link>
<description>
LITTLE NOBODY, feat. ROBO*BRAZILEIRA
&quot;ROBOTA&quot;
(IF?/Hypnotic Room)

Some angles don't change, like the silly Little Nobody infatuation for things robotic.

The name of the new Little Nobody EP is 'Robota', and for this one we shanghaied Japanese producer Toshiyuki Yasuda (one of Si Begg's favorite musicians, and who just finished working with Senor Coconut, a.k.a. Atom Heart) into the arrangement, to do gorgeous, robot-style vocoder vocals as Robo*Brazileira.

The resultant track (with accompanying remixes by Funk Gadget and Dick Drone) was released today in the digital download terrain via IF? in conjunction with Hypnotic Room, on Beatport, etc, and it's just been remixed by Steve Stoll and Jammin' Unit, so look out for those wild versions early on in 2009.

In the meantime, the rather crazy original version here is already getting steady club and radio airplay in Japan and over in the UK, as well as on 2SER in Sydney and 3PBS in Melbourne. More info and feedback from fellow DJ/proddies is online ...

<title>FILASTINE</title>
<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4130.html</link>
<description>
Uber Lingua is proud to announce it's launching as a record label... The first cab
off the rank will be the new album from Barcelona based FILASTINE. Launching
in early December DIRTY BOMB follows the highly praised BURN IT release of
2006. UL is co-releasing this new album in collaboration with DJ/Rupture's
Soot records in the UK and Post World Industries in the US. More on this
shortly.

FILASTINE and his companion in electro-sonic culture jamming MAGA BO will be
touring Australia in late Dec 08 and Jan 09. Should be crazy.

Also touring during this time are North African born, Istanbul based French
musicians DU OUD. This psychedelic rock meets traditional middle eastern
meets electronica duo are prolific movers in the global and French music
scenes.

All three of these acts are out to play Uber Lingua's FESTIVAL FIRST NIGHT
event as part of the Sydney Festival 2009. Info on their Melbourne dates
will be announced by us shortly.

<link>http://www.spraci.com/news/articles/4137.html</link>
<description>
Here is a juicy little morcel to sink your teeth into. Former Salmonella Dub frontman Tiki Taane is redefining his signature sound with his first solo offering 'Past, Present, Future'. The first single 'Now This is it' will blow your mindwith it's strength and intensity. Described as &quot;musically fearless, intensely personal and culturally significant&quot;, Taane reflects, &quot;I've never worked so hard, ventured so deep or asked so much of myself as I did during the production of this album.&quot;

See Tiki live at Big Day Out 2009.

With great pleasure we bring to all DA BUDET
Da Budet is the second album composed by Psykovsky and is a momentous sequel to the Debut album. Da Budet embodies the essence of the unique Psykovsky style and captures the artist's musical evolution. Formless acoustics set against rhythms, classical contexts and tempos that evolve and ascend.all contribute to awesome soundscapes that create vivid images. Merlyn Martin San Diego Sessions - Vol. 2 Red (side b) 1996

Hello all Merlyn Martin here from the Subdivisions Global Podcast / Hazardous Radio in Los Angeles. I am proud to present to you The San Diego Sessions Vol. 2 - Red (side b) 1996. This Volume is a digital conversion of my mix tape from 1996 called DJ Merlyn &quot;Red&quot;. The enclosed recording is side B of the second promotional tape from a 3 part series of Progressive House/Acid Trance tapes called Blue, Red, and White.

These mixes are important to me due to the fact that they tell several stories. I feel the mixes and accompanied art work show how a DJ can be artists with varying musical styles. These mixes represent where I personally was at musically in 1996, and where the underground music scene in San Diego and Los Angeles was at. The San Diego Sessions is a small 5 year window in my 20+ years of DJing. &quot;Blue, Red, and White&quot; represent a 2-3 year period.

Please read back story:

In 1996 I was a rotating resi...
