ICARUS FESTIVAL FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN CULTURES
This Festival is an annual venue organized by all municipalities of Ikaria, (an island of Greece)
The full name of the Festival is "Icarus Festival for Dialogue between Cultures" and its purpose is to
host performances by artists or groups whose music is a product of multicultural participation or inspiration.
The festival takes place every summer on the Greek island of Ikaria in the East Aegean Sea. 2010 is the fifth year of our activity.

ICARUS FESTIVAL FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN CULTURES 2010 "En Mi Nikti " is an ensemble that was created in mid 2009, from the need of its members to communicate and enhance their musical sounds and stimuli, using the palette of both the special timbres and features of an arrangement based on the mandolin.
The repertoire of the ensemble is a journey through the traditional and the more modern musical idioms of Greece and the Mediterranean region.
Songs in ethnic style music written for film and known melodies by jazz composers are the backbone of the ensemble's repertoire.

ICARUS FESTIVAL FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN CULTURES 2010 Margarita Plessas was born in Athens in 1981.
From an early age she engaged in dancing and painting.
From 1996 to 1998 she studied drawing and painting in the studio of painter Michael Veloudios. In 2004 she graduated with honors from the School of Fine Arts of Genoa, in Italy (Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti di Genova) with a degree in painting.
The next two years she studied Scenography and Theatre Performance Art in the laboratory of stage designer Mary Haniotakis. Since 2006 she has been the artistic director of Dance group Amor Latino in which she also participates as a dancer.

The story of Monika began in Patra, where σhe became involved with the independent scene in the city. She began writing songs and playing guitar, accordion, piano, saxophone, etc., initially participating in the group of her brother, the Serpentine, and at times friendly groups of the city.
Very soon she began to play her own songs and the reputation of her talent circulated in Patras and in Athens, where through sporadic appearances, she built the image of a girl who, at first post-teenage years, sang with the power of a seasoned performer and who wrote songs unheard before at a similar level.

Massimo Cusato is a percussionist and drummer of extreme musical flexibility formed under the guidance of master percussionists Horacio Hernandez, Changuito and Arnaldo Vacca.
