An exhilarating Dancenorth Production A party where everyone is invited! This exhilarating production melds the high physicality and athleticism of Gavin Webber's style mixed with the rawness, passion and lyricism of gypsy music. Nightcafe has a rhythm and tempo which moves from melancholy to frenetic. The dancers perfectly blend with the music for dramatic solos that dissolve into lush musical textures and sweet melodies.
Nightcafe is the company's most accessible work with a film noir sub-plot and explosive energy. It delivers a poignant, humorous and up-tempo night of enjoyment.
Dancenorth's works have travelled to Brisbane Powerhouse, Perth and Sydney festivals, Japan, Singapore, Germany and London. Read More |

young, fun and unleashed deep blue are the mavericks of orchestral music. Their cheekiness is infectious. There's no conductor, no music stands and no stuffy outdated rules. They truly engage with their audience, smiling, dancing, and moving around the stage. They even adjust their repertoire according to the SMS suggestions sent by the audience during the show! The performance is fun, movingly powerful and exciting and is an enjoyable experience for the entire family.
The repertoire ranges from the depths of Mahler, to evocative film music, to rock and pop classics such as The Beatles, the Stones and Muse. Composers from all around the world are also writing specifically for deep blue.
