Be there for the Freshmeat intake Sunday 17 May 10am - 2pm Albany Creek Skateaway All Fresh Meat who are interested in training for Roller Derby in the second half of 2009 must attend this special day. The session includes an Information workshop and a basic skating session, both fun and especially for newbies. Forms etc available on the day. We are looking for girls (+18) who are willing to attend regular weekly training in the second half of 2009. Make sure you practice before the next freshmeat intake day, come to our Adventure Women nights. You need to pass a basic safe skating test on the day to be eligible to begin Derby training

Forget about just skating around in circles, an all women flat track roller derby team, the 'Northern Brisbane Rollers' is forming in the Pine Rivers area. "Anyone woman living in the Brisbane area is welcome to our beginner sessions at Albany Creek Skateaway", says Chyna Rhino. "many of the girls haven't skated in 15 to 20 years and are getting out there and giving it a go."Roller Derby was revived a few years ago in the United States and is now taking off in popularity all over the world.
