Inventive and intricately crafted psych-pop from Welsh singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer Carwyn Ellis who has performed or collaborated with the likes of Edwyn Collins, Oasis, Shane MacGowan and UNKLE. BYTE now returns to its home as a permanent fixture on Friday nights, on a Bi-Monthly basis, we hope you can come join us at one of our future dates byte dj's The legendary Purple Turtle in Camden was infamous for hosting hedonistic Hard House events on Sunday nights back in the day, from the days of hosting Torture Garden's sister club Seed (2000-03) to Ultim-8 to BYTE. In full flight "The Turtle's" vibe of intense, full throttle mayhem could not be replicated in any other venue about London Town...it was a magical and surreal journey through the harder side of House music from the minute you stepped into the venue' til the 'one more' was spun...it just had 'THAT' extra edge that set it apart from its peers!

Unseen - Hopes and Dreams is an exhibition of the work taken by Sydney photographer Kate Baker, capturing "life affirming" photographic portraits of disadvantaged youths at The Oasis Centre. Unseen - Hopes and Dreams is an exhibition of the work taken by Sydney photographer Kate Baker, capturing "life affirming" photographic portraits of disadvantaged youths at The Oasis Centre. The resulting collection has now been compiled into a hardcover book, Fridays at Oasis. The organisation, run by the Salvation Army was established to assist youths in crisis and all proceeds of the book will be donated back to the refuge in Surry Hills to provide support for the continuation of their work.

The subjects are the kind of people society usually doesn't notice. Her compelling work turns the spotlight on them for the first time. The book has also given many of the youth involved in this project the opportunity to share their story.
