I saw the Angels Reunited last night at South Juniors, Sydney and wasn't expected too much especially after seeing the Footy Show but was BLASTED away by their rockin performance. I was reminded of why I was an Angels fan and why I always saw them live in the 80's.They are one of, if not only, the best live Aussie band to ever go and see - so full of electricity and energy. Doc delivered true to form, except for the running around like he used to (have to account for age) and the Brewster brothers just pumping out those memorable, melodic riffs was just fantastic, to say the least. If you were, are or going to ever be an Angels fan, you've got to go and see this tour. It's not to be missed.

Cadmium pollution: Cities on alert

The levels of cadmium in a small section of the Xiangjiang River in Central China Province of Hunan are still above safety levels after a spill last week, a senior provincial official said yesterday.

The levels were "one or two times" higher than the national standard in the Wangcheng section of the river in a suburban county of provincial capital Changsha, Jiang Yimin, provincial environmental head, told China Daily.

Cadmium, a chemical that can cause neurological disorders and cancer, seeped into the Xiangjiang River during a silt-cleaning project on January 4.

Ever since the notion of "disco" was filtered through our collective system and guiltless straight people began to enjoy rhythm-based music again-OK, call it post-Acid House-Trance music has undergone a great cell division.

Genres begat micro-genres, which mutated into wholly new forms. Some conferred coolness, others solidified into cheese. That, in itself, was fine because, in clubland, nothing is worse than a tired sound. But DJs got so bent out of shape over how to categorize a particular track or producer, they often seemed to drown in the sea of minutiae. A music conversation with a DJ often resulted in a competition of cool, instead of the answer to the question: Um, did you like the record?
