Orbital Live .
Event
Tuesday, 23rd February 2010

The Forum, The Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, NSW

Orbitals live comeback will coincide with the 20th anniversary of their debut single Chime, a rave-era classic recorded for less than 100, which cracked the Top 20 and earned Paul and Phil the first of many Top of The Pops appearances in the UK - wearing Anti Poll Tax T-shirts, naturally. But the brothers insist the come back shows have nothing to do with nostalgia for the Summer of Love.

Its not an exercise in nostalgia at all, the time just seems right, says Phil. after 20 years of being together.

Their magical Glastonbury appearances in the mid 1990s dazzled dance and rock fans alike. Their 1994 Glasto show even earned a Q magazine rating as one of the Top 50 gigs of all time.

Always leaving room for improvisation on stage, unlike many electronic acts, Paul and Phil are world-class experts at building up large crowds into a frenzy of excitement. Their offstage manner may be deadpan and low-key, but their live performances are orgies of sensory overload and revved-up euphoria. Their perfectly plac

mink engine release first singles from upcoming album Beat Broker
News Item
Melbourne electro-pop duo Mink Engine have chosen to create new trends rather than follow old and outdated rules with the release of the double A-side first singles 'Superpad' and 'Dick Chicken'

'Superpad' showcases Askii's love of synths. The track bursts with crunchy leads and synthetic strings, and lets the music set the agenda rather than the vocals taking the limelight.

'Dick Chicken' is an MA rated deep-fried morality tale. An overlooked and well-endowed Superstar Drumstick named Richard Chicken - after having been thrown in the scrap heap - rises up from his rejection and achieves success, fame and fortune.

The highlight of these tracks is the amazingly colourful video clips that the band have created themselves.

Australian Government pushes to introduce mandatory ISP filt news
News Item
The Australian Government has announced it would push ahead with plans for compulsory filtering of the internet using a "secret list" rejecting criticism the measures lack transparency, are easily circumvented and will do little other than strangle free speech.

Blacklisted sites would be determined by an independent classification body via a "public complaint" process, said Communications Minister Stephen Conroy, admitting there was "no silver bullet solution to cyber-safety".

Internet user groups have strongly opposed the plan, saying any such measure would not fully prevent access to illegal content, block access to some legitimate websites and slow down Internet speeds.

Conroy said a seven-month trial had concluded that blocking could be done with negligible impact to connection speeds.

Internet service providers (ISPs) would be offered grants to offer optional additional filters of, for example, X-rated content and gambling sites.

EFA vice president Colin Jacobs criticised the Go

"We were taking photos of Dutton Park cemetery in Brisbane and wondered about it. It's a song for gravediggers who sit on mounds of dirt and play poker over 5am coffee. The chorus we gave this shanty was manic, orchestral in scale, probably trying to wake the dead with it."

A number of grave diggers appear - with kind permission - in the paintings featured in the video directed by short film & documentary director Jasper St Aubyn West.

In November Omni Anti will be delivering their action packed live show to lucky audiences in Brisbane, Maroochydore, Sydney & Gold C
