Roadhouse Rebels is an Aussie 60's & 70's pub rock blues covers band with the emphasise on sounding like the music from that era using authentic instruments such as Ray Vanderby's 1959 Hammond C3 organ and Leslie rotating speaker. Roadhouse Rebels was founded in 2007 by veteran sideman Hammond organist Ray Vanderby and the band members have had many years experience performing songs from this classic rock blues era both in their own bands as well as being hired as sidemen to some of Australia's top artists including: Blackfeather, Doug Parkinson, Marcia Hines and Stevie Wright. Once having created your account you will be able not only to submit & introduce venues you have played shows at but to rate its work with the help of criteria such as sound, organization, care & catering. You do not necessarily have to submit venues but you are welcome to rate some which have already been submitted & rated by other bands & artists. Once you submit and/ or rate a venue you can leave a comment you should use to underline & express whatever comes into your mind concerning the venue & show.

At the moment we are looking for international bands from all over Europe to start adding new countries & venues to our databank. More than 200 German bands have contributed more than 200 venues already which have been rated around 400 times.

Recently my publicist, Marsha Friedman, President of Event Management sent me the following question: After the performance I spoke with her mom (who was in tears the whole time) about their incredible daughter and her future. Their daughter's dream is to be on stage singing professionallyI said I would forward some information to you - to get your thoughts. After much contemplation, I wrote to the parents (excerpt):

If you've ever felt like your career was heading for a train wreck and didn't know where to turn, look no further than your own mirror. While you will find there are many people in the industry who will help you once you've succeeded, it's a far cry sometimes for anyone to help you when you are climbing up a ladder that sways in the wind and each rung seems like it's going down instead of up. The biggest inspiration you can have to avoid a career collision is to get up, look yourself in eye in your mirror and remember the classic children's book, "I Think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can." From "The Little Train That Could." Say to yourself when you are looking in that mirror that You Can do it! You will do! And then get out of your comfort zone and DO it! Then start looking on the Internet for local musicians meetings to begin your networking today. Build your list of potential supporters one hand shake at a time.

As a musician, bands have it easier than a solo artist in terms of cost to make a CD. Other than that, there are little or no differences. For bands/artists who wish to start the process of making, distributing, and getting radio airplay by themselves, believe it or not, you are starting your own record label. Even if your goal is to land a major recording contract, you will still need to gather more attention for your music by cutting, distributing and promoting your own music. Youll have a much better chance at getting a great record deal with a major label if you are successful on your own first.

Let me preface this by saying that I have the utmost respect and admiration for songwriters who can write song after song. Those very talented individuals who, while they are sitting on the plane, in the bathroom, or at a dining table, grab a napkin, the roll of toilet paper, the safety guide on the airplane, or whatever may be handy and start frantically writing. While I have had this inspiration once in a while, its not a fluent talent. So my hats are off to you! The statistics were very interesting and I hope not conclusive of what is going on in the music industry right now, although I suspect they are indicative of it.

Summer has just ended, the kids are back in school, and there is just the faintest touch of color to the trees that stands as testimony to a glorious fall season to come. Surely it is too soon to begin worrying about the Christmas holidays. Or is it? We have all felt the pressure and stress that comes from trying to buy holiday presents for everyone at the last moment, the strain that it puts on our finances, and we all resolve not to fall into the same trap next year. And yet, year after year, many of us find ourselves repeating the same situation. Now is the time to start making plans so that you can enjoy shopping and be stress free during the holidays. The best way to plan you shopping to be stress free during the holidays is to start buying some presents now.

Shifting ones and zeros while I'm listening to the electronic pulse of Style of Eye and live modern acid jazz, hiding in the corner next to the bookcase, my midnight muse.

After 400 plus hours of design and edits and six versions later, my publishing project has finally turned a corner, the same intersection that keeps me typing hundreds of pages and analyzing html code instead of creating hundreds of garments in my studio and workshop.

The technical challenge is moving into a downhill position and the editorial and a handful of electronic self expression is all that lies between myself and publishing my electronic art, fashion and culture magazine.
