Label and Guest Deejays playin Dub and Basswise music Spiral Soundsystem, Symonard, Low Sub Destroyerz, Dubstance DUB IN THA CLUB

Following in the tradition of local, warm and popular gig; Dub In Tha Pub, Dub In Tha Club brings together label and guest DJs to play a variety of breakbeat musics. Generally a dubstep session and with dubstep being such a broad sounding genre, djs will often move into dub and all its ways, realms of drum'n'bass and jungle music, breaks and forays into hip hop and funk...always bringing it fresh!

First gig brings out 'dub rascals', Symonard and Spiral Soundsystem and new label signing and bad ass beat specialist Dubstance and joined by fresh guest Low Sub Destroyerz.

Complemented by record label networks, promotion, reputation and hype, the Dub In Tha Club event proves to be a big bass heavy and savvy gig.

Base, Magnetic Island

In a time when the mass-production and commercial success of hip-hop is held in higher regard than originality, few fresh-faces stand up from the pack and demand to be counted. Luckily for us, KiD CuDi (aka Scott Mescudi), is one such face.

Originally from Cleveland, CuDI has called Brooklyn home for the past 3 years - a move he credits with his somewhat rapid rise to fame. After all, this was where he came to meet G.O.O.D Music A&R figure, Plain Pat, who worked closely with none other than Kanye West on his "Graduation" release.

Fusing alternative rock and hip-hop with a sprinkle of r n b, CuDI's tracks are laced with his unmistakable mellow, laidback, mid-west flow. Of most notoriety is "Day N Night" - the ever-so-catchy stoner's anthem of 2008 - which was recently released by burgeoning American label Fool's Gold - co-owned by A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs and home to Kid Sister, Flosstradamus, Cool Kids and our very own Bag Raiders. With each verse of "Day N Night," CuDI unashamedly unveils flaws in his per

advice for dj's starting out...
Blog Entry
here is a rough blurb I recently sent to someone asking the often-asked question I get in my mailbox -"djing - how do I get a start out there?" I'm not much of a writer but after writing this I though I should post it.As an article it's unfinished but as I said I'm not really a writer... and the hints might help someone out there.

Children and the Entertainment Industry - With backstage moms and dads prevailing over their children, are we in danger of corru
Blog Entry
In todays society we know that the moral fiber of our communities is in peril. Why then, do we not protect our children? We have a responsibility to safeguard our most vulnerable; instead, we prematurely catapult them into a world they are not mature enough to handle and destroy their innocence. Frequently, I am asked by parents and friends of aspiring stars to offer my opinion about getting their child into show business. Recently my publicist, Marsha Friedman, President of Event Management sent me the following question: After the performance I spoke with her mom (who was in tears the whole time) about their incredible daughter and her future. Their daughter's dream is to be on stage singing professionallyI said I would forward some information to you - to get your thoughts. After much contemplation, I wrote to the parents (excerpt):

Sino-French oil giants to tap demostic oil reserve
Blog Entry
BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- China's largest oil and gas producer, China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), has reached a deal with Europe's largest oil refiner Total in jointly tapping the country's domestic oil reserve in a move to meet its surging demand for energy.

The Sino-French oil company alliance will work on the Sulige gas field, located in the Ordos Basin in northwest China, Liu Weijiang, said CNPC spokesman for overseas business, quoted by Saturday's China Daily.

Industry sources said the Sulige field has gas reserves of up to 602.6 billion cubic meters.

"It is only a set of framework agreements, and more follow-up projects are still under discussion," Liu said on Friday.
