Numatica is the down tempo project from Melbourne based producer Andrew Hunt focusing on dub styled sounds which incorporates ambient, chill and dance elements for both listening at home or at festivals. Growing up in New Zealand and playing guitar from an early age Andrew has played in bands of various styles in both New Zealand and Australia over the years. Kyp Malone is almost as busy as Jack White. While not participating in the amazing TV On The Radio, Kyp can be found moonlighting in a band called Iran. As if that wasn't enough, he has now launched a solo project called Rain Machine. And you know, it's different that those other two bands. Sure, you can recognize Kyp's and at times his skronky guitar sounds but as for song structure Rain Machine manages to sound quite different.The best track on the album is by far the proper album opener "Give Blood" for which Malone has released a cool bedroom video for. It's a catchy, upbeat track. Strangely enough "Desperate Bitch" is quite a mellow track. You would have thought this would be one of his angry tirades, but in the end he stretches the song out a little too far making it to the 8 minute mark.Even Eastern style music is dabbled with on the track "Driftwood Heart". "Love Won't Save You" probably should have been dropped from the set. It's a quiet rambling with just Kyp and an acoustic guitar that never seems

When I first posted this one I did it because I think this arrangement by Omar is just amazing. When I listen to it I get chills. I copped to the fact that my contributions may not have been up to speed with it and I received a slight dig (comment) but that's okay it seems it makes some feel good to be critical. It's like they're not happy until they are, or can be. It appears it is being honest but that's not all it is.

I'm an honest person too but when I review someone's arrangement and it's too bad for words then I won't say anything (which is very rare here on icomp) unless they ask for a critical response then I don't put them on the spot or crush them. You can give an honest critique without being as sarcastic or as derogatory as you can possibly be, picking it apart. I guess not every one learns the art of "constructive critism". Anyway, here it is...be as evil as you want...or not-smile. Thank you for listening and a special thanks to puff for knowin how da work a horn.
