Doris Richards, pianist and retired Professor of Music from Wayne State University, has spent her entire musical career teaching and performing. As as chamber music specialist, she has played through out the Mid-west, southwestern Ontario and in New York City. Locally, she is an avid supporter of the South Great Lakes Symphony, volunteers in the box office and serves on the Board of Directors.

Nicole Holmes graduated from the University of Michigan in April 2002 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Philosophy. Nicole currently plays with the Livonia Symphony Orchestra. Prior to joining Livonia, she played with the Dearborn Summer Music Festival Orchestra and Metropolitan Youth Symphony. She attended the All State program at Interlochen for 8 summers and studied privately with Richard Piippo.

Exploration of Afro-Jazz mee Euro Jazz BIG BROTHER AFRICA. Paul Murphy, DJ Crossover Mouse ft Quincy Timberlake, Armada Jazz Band UK, Hellonic Jazz is a type of music which was invented in Kenya in 2005. It combines Kenyan-American music with European music.

JH jazz instruments include the saxophone, trumpet, piano, double bass, and drums.

It's a fastest growing improviser band full of life and procreation of adelede type.

Its pushed for popularity here in the UK by Jazz UK through Damille Timberlake of the HOME office.

Viva la Musica! choir, orchestra and soloists will present Magnificent Bach and Holiday Lights in concert under the direction of Shulamit Hoffmann. Fresh from a concert at Carnegie Hall, Viva la Musica! will offer Bach's Magnificat. High-spirited lighter songs of the holiday season with a visual arts presentation will round out the program.

Soloists will include Deirdre Lobo D'Cunha, soprano; Casie Walker, soprano; Elspeth Frank, contralto; Corey Head, tenor; and Jordan Eldridge, bass.

Hoffman will give a pre-concert talk 30 minutes before each concert. A reception and holiday market will follow each performance.

Forte " The Toronto Mens Chorus presents its 13th annual holiday concert, A Ceremony of Carols.

This concert features a performance of Benjamin Brittens A Ceremony of Carols, one of the great choral standards of the 20th century, featuring harpist Andrew Chang; traditional, contemporary and popular carols for Christmas and Hanukkah, and carols performed in German, Ukrainian, and Spanish, under the musical direction and accompanied by Edward Connell. This concert will also feature the world premiere of Forte member Peter Krochaks, holiday inspired composition Birth, with lyrics by Lori Vos. Special guest artists include Bruno and Aurlie Cormier performing selections from their new CD Dans le silence de la nuit, a Christmas recording of their favourite carols, arranged by Bruno, and accompanied by chamber orchestra, piano and organ.

Prepare to be entertained at this must-see concert! The WeinbergCenter welcomes its second Emerging Artist of the season when The Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra comes to the Center. Its very rare that jazz artists focus exclusively on one instrument, but bass clarinetist and composer Todd Marcus, based in Baltimore, is one of the few jazz artists worldwide to focus exclusively on use of the bass clarinet as a primary soloing instrument. Marcus and his full ensemble will be at the WeinbergCenter on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 8 p.m. Formed by Marcus and saxophonist/flutist Lyle Link, the nine-member band blends traditional jazz with a variety of other musical styles, including hip-hop and world beat. Joining the orchestra that evening will be two special guests New York based trumpeter Sean Jones and pianist Orrin Evans. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. A meet-and-greet with the artists will follow the show.
