Movement 2009 will be the biggest electronic music party Memorial Day Weekend, but there will be an additional 13 Official Movement Parties taking place in Detroit and Windsor starting Friday May 22nd through Monday, May 25.

"Techno and Electronic Dance music fans love the festival atmosphere," said Jason Huvaere, Movement festival director, "and we want to keep the party going after the festival so we partnered with some great local promoters to host our official Movement parties."

The most highly anticipated Movement After-Party is the festival's closing party on Monday, May 25 because it launches the new partnership between Movement Detroit and Movement Torino. It will be the beginning of a new era for both Movement festivals.

The partnership between the two festivals was first announced at a press conference at the end of April. Electronic Music icon Derrick May introduced the two groups in 2008 and they began discussing how they could work together to make Movement a global brand.

Progressive Grooves Records is celebrating two years of prime progressive music with the release of a powerful and thorough compilation.

The cream of the crop has been chosen and impressively featured in an outstanding hour long mix by label owner and lead producer Mikas. The work titled 2 Years of Progressive Grooves will also include all of the original singles included in the mix. The project promises to be a well rounded double-disc epitomizing two years of critically acclaimed material for the young, but fruitful label. The artists and team will promise to deliver some of the most distinguished music the progressive genre has to offer.

Recently the label released a spring compilation for Winter Music Conference in Miami with the title "Progressive Grooves Vol. I - Miami 2008. The compilation went on to top the charts in The United Kingdom and Australia, while most notably receiving a Top 10 spot for iTunes E.D.M. Genre.

MAARS has been nominated for the 'One to Watch' award by Enterprise Ireland. "Enterprise Ireland has commissioned a special award called the 'One to Watch' award which will be presented to the researcher deemed to have the most commercial potential, both in their approach to research and in the technologies they have developed."

Dr. Laurentiu Vasiliu, DERI at NUI Galway, for the project MAARS has been nominated for the 'One to Watch' Award 2009 " for developing software that helps financial experts to make complex calculations instantly.
